Be quick and purchase unique one off designs. FREE Demonstrations presented each day By Verity Lougoon. Verity Lougoon is an emerging textile designer based in Melbourne. She studied studio textiles at RMIT University, where she majored in experimental textiles and researched environmentally sustainable design. She now continues her own practice creating contemporary homewares inspired by Australian native flora and fauna. Saturday 4th October 11am - Rags to Riches. Discover how to make stunning home and fashion accessories using alpaca and wool off cuts incorporating a variety of fabric manipulation techniques. 1pm - Basic Felt Making A good introduction to felt making which covers both wet and dry felting. Learn all the basics you need to get you on your way. Felting kits available for purchase. 3pm - Eco Textiles Ever wondered what impact your arts and craft have on the environment? Learn all about why fibres like alpaca are better for the environment and learn techniques you can use to reduce your environmental footprint. Sunday 5th October 11am - Interior Styling Get an insight into trend forecasting and colour directions while you get inspiration for you home projects. Learn how to create designer pieces for the home including storage containers, floor cushions, place mats and more. 1pm - Wild Felting This felt making demonstration is not for the faint hearted. You've learnt the basics now let your imagination run wild with sculptural and experimental felting techniques. 3pm - Child's Play See how to create gorgeous children's toys and nursery decorations, using a combination of techniques including felting and embroidery.
