Candlewicking

Candlewicking, which is also known as whitework is a needlework technique of stitching white thread on white cloth. Traditionally unbleached cotton thread is used on a piece of unbleached muslin. Patterns are created using a variety of colonial or French knots and satin stitches. Modern designs often used colours interwoven with the traditional white, to great effect.
